About six million people in 33 states are being poisoned by their tap water. The culprit is perfluorinated
compounds – perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA). Those chemicals are used to make Teflon and some plastics. These chemicals have been linked to obesity, cancer, hormone disruption, and high cholesterol levels. According to Xindi Hu, the lead researcher at Harvard where the problem was studied:
“For many years, chemicals with unknown toxicities, such as PFASs, were allowed to be used and released to the environment, and we now have to face the severe consequences.”
Filters that remove PFOA and PFOS
PFOA and PFOS are absorbable through the skin, so whole home filtration is required. Research on skin absorption suggests that dermal (skin) exposure to PFOA and PFOS may be a significant route of exposure that will affect the immune system. If you suffer from autoimmune problems, then you may be getting harmed from PFOA and PFOS in your water, and whole home filtration may result in improvements in your condition. Keep in mind, water softener systems do not filter PFOA and PFOS, you must use whole home filtration.

Life Ionizers has economically priced systems and we guarantee highest quality and best prices. The filter media needed to reduce PFOA and PFOS is Granular Activated Carbon (GAC). Life Ionizers has several whole home filtration systems that use GAC media, so they can protect you from those chemicals. Life’s water ionizers and the Pitcher of Life both have GAC media in their filters, so if you own either a Life Ionizer or the Pitcher of Life, your drinking water is already being filtered for PFOS and PFOA.
Where PFOA and PFOS contamination is found
The map on the right shows where PFOS and PFOA contamination has been found. For a more detailed map that lets you zoom in to see if your zip code is affected, visit the Environmental Working Group’s interactive PFOA/PFOS map. If you live in a zip code that is shown in red on the map, there is PFOA and/or PFOS in your water, and it’s time to take action especially if you have a sensitive or compromised immune system!

I am curious to know what a system for a 2 br 2 bath home would cost and if the fact that I am on septic and well, could cause any problems with installation of your product. The Naval base is responsible for our pfos and pfoa tainted water, and I would like to go to their info forum armed with some costs (that they will have to pay) Pls forward me that info
