Can you make alkaline water with apple cider vinegar by Life Water Ionizers?
Weird but true! Apple cider vinegar is acidic, mixing it with water will make acidic water, not alkaline water. But, if you drink water with apple cider vinegar mixed in it, it will actually raise the pH of your urine! Drinking either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar will raise the pH of your urine because when your body metabolizes the apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, they release alkaline minerals like calcium and magnesium. These mineral byproducts raise the pH of your urine.
Acidic water can lead to an upset stomach
Many people who have tried to alkalize their bodies by drinking water mixed with apple cider vinegar report having upset stomach issues, including acid reflux. This is because acidic beverages will increase the acidity of your stomach. So if you have a history of acidity-related stomach problems such as acid reflux or ulcers, it’s not a good idea to drink water made acidic by apple cider vinegar or lemon juice.
Your best choice is to drink alkaline water, which is able to neutralize acidity. Research shows that alkaline water can neutralize acid, and permanently inactivate pepsin, which is the enzyme that triggers the damage that excess acidity can do to your stomach.
pH and Alkalinity – not the same thing!
Many people confuse pH and alkalinity, but they’re not the same thing. pH is short for potential hydrogen – it measures how much hydrogen is available in the water for a chemical reaction. Alkalinity measures how much acid the water can neutralize. Obviously, for health purposes, you should be more concerned with your water’s alkalinity than it’s pH.
If you are determined to make alkaline water at home, your best bet is to use a little bit of Milk of Magnesia. It alkalizes your water with magnesium hydroxide, which gives the water good alkalinity. Just be sure to keep the pH level below 10. Baking soda is not a good way to make alkaline water because it loads up your body with sodium. Most people do not need any more sodium in their diets!
How a water ionizer makes alkaline water
Tap water contains carbonate compounds – calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, which give tap water a bitter, chalky taste. Water ionizers convert the mineral carbonates in your water into mineral hydrates – calcium hydrate and magnesium hydrate.
Mineral hydrates are strong alkalizers. In fact, many municipal water treatment plants use calcium hydrate – in the form of slaked lime – to raise the pH of tap water. A water ionizer converts mineral carbonates into mineral hydrates, which is what gives alkaline water it’s ability to neutralize acid.
Why a water ionizer is the best way to make alkaline water
Purity – It best to use a water ionizer to make alkaline water because for alkaline water to be healthy, it must be freed of toxins – especially chlorine. Alkaline water loses it’s healthy properties when contaminated with chlorine. Tap water can contain many toxins that can turn home-made alkaline water into a toxic brew.
Safety – A big problem with making alkaline water yourself is controlling it’s strength. You can measure the pH of your water with simple test strips, but remember, alkalinity is more important than pH! If you make your alkaline water to strong, you can make yourself sick. If you make it too weak, it won’t give you the health benefit that you are looking for. A water ionizer is calibrated to produce safe, effective alkaline water – every time.
Taste – Have you ever made alkaline water with baking soda or Milk of Magnesia? Yes, these make your water alkaline but they also make it taste terrible! Lemon juice can make your water taste nice, but only if you add a small amount – too little to have much effect. Alkaline water made by a water ionizer tastes great. It’s sweeter and more refreshing than plain water.
A water ionizer makes it easy to get the alkaline water you need to take charge of your health. The water is purified of toxins, it has the right ph and alkalinity for good health, and you get as much as you want – for pennies per gallon. In the long run, a water ionizer is an investment. Over the course of your lifetime, you will save thousands over bottled water, and get better water.

I’m a little confused. I want the health benefits of ionised water which has a pH of 9.5. If I add a lemon or add apple cider vinegar does that neutralise the effects of drinking hydrogenated water in the first place?

I have the same question. Did you ever get an answer? I have a water ionizer machine that makes alkaline water, but concerned that my morning ritual of drinking 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar in the alkaline water make hamper or eliminate the benefits.

We have well water, need purification, and ionizer. Do you offer this service, how expensive is it?

It increases the antioxidant potential of lemon water, so it’s beneficial to combine lemon water and ionized water. Apple cider vinegar is a stronger acid, so it would neutralize the ionized water

Yes, we do offer filtration systems for well users that work great with water ionizers. What we need to know first is: What is in your water? Have you ever had it tested? We need this information to advise you on the right system for your water quality
