Understanding the Study
Background
Studies show that those suffering from T2DM (type 2 Diabetes Mellitus) benefit from cholesterol management, particularly those experiencing dyslipidemia - a lipid level condition. A new study shows that alkaline ionized water high in hydrogen could positively influence cholesterol levels and other lipid profiles in such patients. Alkaline Ionized Water (AIW) Characteristics and Benefits:- AIW Hydrogen Rich Properties: Antioxidant effects of AIW are shown to potentially benefit individuals with the aforementioned conditions.
- Alkaline Water: Alkaline Ionized Water potentially impacts lipid metabolism positively, benefiting those with dyslipidemia related to Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2.
- Benefits shown with AIW Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP): The ORP indicator of AIW is a representation measured in voltage which reflects a substance’s ability to oxidatively reduce other substances. Alkaline Ionized water is shown to have negative oxidation reduction which encouragingly points to its potential ability to be a neutralizer in oxygen reactivity and related oxidative species harm.
Key Findings
-
Changes in Lipid Profile:
- Total Cholesterol: The Alkaline Ionized Water study group and the control group both showed a total drop in cholesterol levels. Though both groups recorded decreased cholesterol levels, the Alkaline Ionized Water group recorded a larger drop. Though the Alkaline Ionized Water study group showed a larger decrease.
- Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL): These decreased with the Alkaline Ionized Water group.
- High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDL): Beneficial HDL cholesterol, were seen in the Alkaline Ionized group.
- Triglycerides: No difference was seen.
-
Analysis of Statistics:
- Independent data analysis for the study used multiple tests including t-tests, paired t-tests, and Mann-Whitney tests to analyze the data. Results indicate significant improvements in lipid profiles in the Alkaline Ionized Water group compared to the control group.
Implications of the Study
The study points strongly to the potential benefits of Alkaline Ionized Water for individuals with Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus and dyslipidemia. Conclusion
Benefits of Alkaline Ionized Water present a natural way that science is continuing to show as promising to those who needing to control cholesterol and lipid profiles. For those individuals managing Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus, the incorporation of regular consumption of Alkaline Ionized Water might offer benefits that supplement and/or compound on conventional treatments. It is always imperative to consult healthcare professionals before making any significant changes to dietary or treatment plans.References
