Kangen Water® scam is a marketing scam. Ok, so we might use the word scam a little bit strongly, but the tactics that they use are misleading and not ethical. Kangen water is good, healthy ionized alkaline water, but Enagic's marketers use very aggressive sales tactics to promote it. There are so many stories of Kangen reps pressuring their friends so much that they end up losing those relationships if they don't buy a water ionizer (or Kangen machine as they like to call it) for way too much money. more affordable way to get the same results. So what is Kangen up to? Enagic manufactures the Kangen water machine and sells it through Multi-Level Marketing independent sales representatives. What's a multi-level marketing scheme? It's pretty much a pyramid scheme, but with a nicer name. This allows Enagic® to avoid making health claims for the Kangen company. Instead, Enagic® allows its network of independent multi-level-marketers (MLM) to do all the advertising and health claims. They will literally tell you anything and everything to get you to buy one. The advantage to Enagic® is that they can’t be held responsible for the things that their salespeople say.

All the TV “News” reports that praise Kangen Water® are fake. Many of the celebrities who they say drink Kangen water are inaccurate as well.
If you search Kangen Water® on YouTube, you will find many pages of videos that claim to be from recognized television media sources like CNN. These videos are made by Kangen Water® MLM sales reps, not the actual TV news stations they portray. All of the claims you see in these fake Kangen “news” reports are fraudulent. No TV news report has ever praised Kangen Water®. CNN, in particular, has only reported on Kangen Water® once, and they called it a scam.
Kangen reps often try to say Bill Gates has multiple units for all of his homes. They even offer up a photo of him holding up a sign saying "I have 18 SD501s. How many do you have?" This photo is a photoshop fabrication of Bill Gates. Simply "Google" "Bill Gates holding a sign" and you will see that this has been done by many.
Fact: There has never been a positive TV news report about Kangen Water®

You can’t drink “strong” Kangen Water®
Ads for the Kangen Water® machine claim it can make alkaline water with a pH of over 11. But what they aren’t telling you is that you need to use additive chemicals to make Kangen Water® that strong, AND you can’t drink that water! Strong Kangen water is made using a salt solution, when ionized, that solution generates chlorine. You should be very careful when handling Strong Kangen water, it's vapors are harmful. Don't settle for a water ionizer that relies on chemical additives to boost their pH levels.

Furthermore, health claims that suggest that Kangen Water® can cure disease violate the law, but the FDA can’t stop them. Consequently, there are hundreds of individual Kangen MLM salespeople, and the FDA doesn’t have the resources to investigate all their claims, and shut them down. That doesn't mean there aren't studies that show the benefits of alkaline ionized water (Kangen water), but Kangen reps do not rely on real studies. Instead, they elaborate on something they heard another rep say and then, they will add onto this fib.
